Propaganda can be useful to shape an individual’s mind. The influence that propaganda carries can be positive to those looking for a common public opinion. Bernay used the example of social services and how they compared to propaganda. He stated that, “Social progress is simply the progressive education and enlightenment of the public mind in regard to its immediate and distant social problems.” For example, many churches have developed advertising committees, making use of newspapers and billboards. This is a form of propaganda usage by involving social services and promoting daily activities to the public.
